FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE MHS THEATRE SOCIETY

We will be hosting a car wash at the Medfield Town Hall on Saturday June 7th from 10am to 2pm! Come join us, bring your car, and your pine pollen! We will have your car squeaky clean in no time! All proceeds will go toward the Eva LaRowe Memorial Fund, in honor of our dear friend and Society's Vice President. Thank you for your support!

Busy Spring for MHS Chapter of Girls Who Start: Welcoming 2 MHS Graduates as Speakers

In March, MHS Class of 2009 Christina Stavrakas, M.S., CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist, founder and owner of The Learning Gallery joined GWS to share her journey from a double Music and Psychology major to her MGH IHP Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology with a specific focus in supporting autistic children and families. The Learning Gallery works with Boston and Rhode Island students with speech therapy, tutoring, and consulting services. Christina Stavrakas and her team work diligently to help young students navigate their learning and lives. Christina continues performing in local orchestras and the Legacy String Trio.

Apple Engineering Product Manager in Cupertino, California Isobel L. G. Burgess (MHS 2015) is a 2019 graduate of Mt. Holyoke College, where she majored in Astronomy & Astrophysics, and also minored in Politics, talked with GWS members and other attendees about her experiences as woman to work for a major NoCal tech company, managing engineers when you aren’t one yourself, her learning curve from moving from New England to California, adjusting to a new work environment, plus her incredibly positive experiences matriculating from historically women’s college, Mt. Holyoke College. In addition, she answered lots of questions on a variety of topics.

SUMMER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Are you interested in helping escort Thomas Upham House wheelchair residents so they can enjoy the MEMO Concerts on Thursday evenings this summer?

The Thomas Upham House is looking for volunteers to do just that!

If you are interested and able to help escort some of their residents in wheelchairs to and from the outdoor MEMO concerts at the Gazebo next to the Medfield Public Library, please reach out to llanger@rehabma.net or call 508-359-6050. Depart the Thomas Upham House around 5:30pm and return just after 7:00.

This is a family-friendly service opportunity, great for teens and adults. Nice conversation with some Medfield seniors to and from a wonderful outdoor concert.
