Dear Medfield Families,
We have been informed that a student at the Wheelock School, a student at Blake Middle School, a student at Medfield High School, and a staff member at the Dale St. School have all tested positive for COVID-19. All four did participate with in-person classes during the infectious period, which the MA Department of Public Health has defined as 48 hours prior to the beginning of symptoms, or if asymptomatic, 48 hours prior to the test collection.
The in-school close contacts for the Wheelock student have been notified. There are no other in-school close contacts for the three other positive cases and the community close contacts for all four positive cases have been notified. It is important to note that these are four separate positive cases with no evidence of in-school transmission.
