State of Schools

Dear Medfield Families,

Welcome back! I hope you had a restful April break and are ready for the “home stretch” toward the end of the school year.

I am pleased to announce that the 2026 State of Our Schools is now available online!

This year, in order to reduce costs, we did not mail a print copy to every home, but we are delighted to present it to you in digital format. As always, the State of Our Schools publication includes a lot of great content, including:

  • Recent highlights and “points of pride”

  • Student outcomes, including college matriculation, MCAS, SAT, and Advanced Placement

  • Educator and Alumni spotlights

  • FY27 budget updates

We also have been busy preparing for the upcoming Annual Town Meeting, which will include an important vote on the proposed FY27 override for additional school funding. If you are a registered voter in Medfield, we hope you will participate:

Annual Town Meeting

  • Monday, May 4

  • 7:00 pm

  • Medfield High School Gymnasium

  • Childcare available (permission form)

  • Additional detail on the Town website

  • First of two steps required for override approval (Step 2: Special Election, Monday, June 8)

We have also created two new resources about the FY27 override:

These resources provide important information for Medfield voters about the proposed $1.9 million override, including implications for the school district’s budget if the override is approved or defeated.

We hope to see you one week from tonight at the Annual Town Meeting.

Thanks,

Jeff  Marsden

Superintendent
