Wait till 8

Wait Until 8th Invitation

LET KIDS BE KIDS A LITTLE LONGER

The Wait Until 8th pledge empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until at least the end of 8th grade. Let’s protect the elementary and middle school years from the distractions and the dangers of a smartphone in Medfield.  More than 100,000 families across the country have said yes to waiting on a smartphone.  This includes over 50 families in our community who have signed the pledge.  We would love for you to join them.

As a group of parents that have spent the year dedicated to the work of the Mobile Technology Task Force, we have learned about some of the harmful effects of mobile technology on developing brains. They can never unplug. We realize there is so much information on this topic, so we would like to direct you to Wait Until 8th so you can read the research and data yourself.
