January 3, 2021 --

Dear Medfield Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful break.

As you have seen from my emails over the past 10 days, both Medfield and Massachusetts have seen a surge in positive COVID-19 cases. If you traveled out of state over the break, please review the state's current requirements to quarantine and/or obtain a negative COVID-19 test before attending school. We are relying on everyone to follow these rules in order to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

Today, we have been informed that four students at Medfield High School have tested positive for COVID-19. None of these students participated with in-person classes during the infectious period, which the MA Department of Public Health has defined as 48 hours prior to the beginning of symptoms, or if asymptomatic, 48 hours prior to the test collection. The community contact tracing is still ongoing.

Sincerely,

Jeff Marsden
