GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Montrose School in Medfield is looking for volunteers to help at their annual 5K and pancake breakfast to benefit The Elizabeth Schickel Foundation on May 8, 2022. Elizabeth Schickel was a Montrose School student who died at the age of 15 from brain cancer. Each year the 5K and pancake breakfast raises money to support The Elizabeth Schickel preschool in Uganda as well as a scholarship fund.  Please email Mrs. Hagan if you are interested in helping at this event or if you want to put a team together to run!

CONGRATULATIONS! The Science Olympiad club just finished their competition season this weekend. We had two top 10 finishes at states! Participants: Samuel Chung, Austin Ferry-Calo, Alexander Mazurenko, Kathryn Merck, Sina Ozgul, John Puthiaparambil, Pranit Shah, Preet Shah, Adrian Sheehy, Mosbah Tayara

Overall 42nd Place out of 64 schools with a 2nd Place Computer Science (Katie Merck and Pranit Shah) and 9th Place Cell Bio (Sina Ozgul and Adrian Sheehy)!

For the WSSL we had 5 total competitions and overall took 9th place out of 20 schools! We also had the following top 10 finishes: 1st Place Disease Detectives, 5th Place Anatomy and Physiology, 6th Place Physics Quiz Bowl, 6th Place Sound of Music, 8th Place Water Quality, 8th Place designer Genes, 8th Place Cell Bio, 10th Place Astronomy

SENIOR FASHION SHOW NEWS

This Saturday, April 2nd  @ 7 p.m. in the Medfield High School Auditorium

The Senior Fashion Show, in its 27th year, is the "unofficial" start of MHS's graduation festivities and the largest fundraiser for the annual All Night Graduation Party. Families, students, and community members are encouraged to attend the event to admire the seniors’ personal fashion choices and learn a few fun facts provided by each of the seniors about themselves. Popular music from the last 18 years along with a few surprises adds to this memorable night - you don’t want to miss it! 

Tickets ($20 each + $2 service fee) will remain on sale until March 30th at 11 p.m., but we encourage you to buy now for the best seat selection. If the event is not sold out, tickets (cash only) will be available at the door on April 2nd. Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention is excited to offer a presentation by Multi-Service Eating Disorders Inc. on Monday, April  4th at 7pm in the Blake Middle School Library Media Center. This presentation is being offered in person and via Zoom. Please see this FLIER for more information.


MISS AMAZING 

Save the date! Massachusetts Miss Amazing is coming to Medfield High School for its ninth annual event! Miss Amazing’s mission statement reads, “Miss Amazing provides opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment.” Join us in supporting this goal and giving these girls and young women an opportunity to shine. This full-day event is Saturday, April 9th, 2022 and the show will be held in the Medfield High School Auditorium at 6 PM. Thank you to all the families for your amazing support of the 15th Annual Medfield Coalition for Public Education Spelling Bee, sponsored by Medfield Orthodontics! 383 spellers from Wheelock and Dale took part in this year's comeback event! The competition was F-I-E-R-C-E and all teams should be proud of their A-C-H-I-E-V-E-M-E-N-T-S! We hope everyone had a fun night spelling with friends and we can't wait to see you next year! #thebeeisback 


BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

Box Tops are still being collected and the money raised will benefit Blake Middle School. If you have any box tops that you cut out, NOT the new scanning type, please have your student drop them off in the box in the main office of the High School. There is also a collection box at Shaws on the window sill at the self check out end.
