MHS WINTER ATHLETICS MTG. is TONIGHT at 6:00 pm!

On Monday, November 4, at 6:00 pm, there will be a meeting held in the gymnasium at the Medfield High School for all athletes and a parent(s) interested in playing high school athletics this coming winter season at Medfield HS.  This meeting is very important and will cover many questions and concerns you may have, as well as introductions to all high school coaches and staff.  Immediately following this meeting, coaches will meet with their respective sports to speak about the season and answer any questions you may have.

 

*Sports offered for the winter season are:

 Medfield High School:

Indoor Track (Boy’s and Girl’s)

Basketball (Boy’s and Girl’s)

Ice Hockey (Boys and Girl’s)

Gymnastics (Girl’s)

Swim and Dive (Co-ed)

*Alpine Ski (co-op through Ashland HS).  Meeting 10/29 (7:00 pm) @ AHS

Congratulations to our MHS Cheerleading Squad who qualified for regionals at this past weekend’s Tri Valley League competition. Regionals are November 17th at Plymouth North HS. Best of luck!

MHS NOVEMBER ADVISORY NOTES

For the month of November our advisory and community theme will be “Communication”. Students and faculty will review several studies on the impact of smartphones on learning.

FROM THE LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER

The LMC homepage has been updated and it includes several new digital magazines which can be accessed from both school and home. Click on Flipster in the middle of the page to access the magazine of your choice. The library staff can provide you with the login information if you are prompted to enter a username and password.

The new magazines will also be available in print format in the near future.  We will continue to subscribe to Sports Illustrated, Consumer Reports, Time, and Wired as well. ESPN and Money have discontinued printing, however back issues are still available on the website. Enjoy!

MHS PTO UPDATE

Please join us on Wednesday, November 6th at 8:15 am for our PTO Meeting followed at 8:30 am with PTO Presents: A Conversation with Athletic Director Eric Scott.  We will be meeting in Room 125.  Hope to see you there!

 

LOOKING AHEAD:

The MHS SITE COUNCIL will meet on TUESDAY, November 12th at 3:15 pm in the main office conference room.

 

FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE...

On November 13th and 14th, the Medfield High School nurses will be screening the 10th grade students (currently in Wellness) for vision, hearing and obtaining a height and weight.  According to the Massachusetts Department of Public health CMR 200.400; Vision and Hearing Screenings will be performed by school health personnel on each student in the public school once during high school.  If you prefer that your child be excused from this screening, please contact the nurses via email or telephone.

MHS THEATRE SOCIETY PRESENTS...

The Curious Savage by John Patrick, NOVEMBER 15th - 17th

(The Curious Savage is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.)

Please note that this show is double-cast meaning there are two sets of actors performing. One group will perform Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The other group will perform Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. If you are hoping to see a particular actor, please double check when they will perform. The list can be found here.
